The Astra Tech challenge continues at the EAO meeting in Monaco
Just in time for EAO, expanded labeling claims for Astra Tech Implant System™ were cleared by FDA. The Astra Tech Implant System is designed to maintain the marginal bone support and is proven clinically to maintain marginal bone level.
At EAO 2008 Astra Tech challenged the current standard norm for implant treatment success. Now, a year later, a recently published meta-analyses study with comparative data on different implant systems shows that it is certainly time to challenge old truths.
The topic created a lot of attention and discussions in the Astra Tech booth and in the Inspirational Centre.
Another area that created a lot of interest was the Atlantis™ patient-specific abutments, which is one of the Astra Tech open solutions available for all major implant systems. A new shade of zirconia has been launched. The new colour option in addition to the already existing materials in titanium, gold-shaded titanium and white zirconia offers clinicians the freedom and flexibility to provide their patients with truly aesthetic results.
Astra Tech also announced a strategic alliance with the Canadian company Dental Wings for the development of 3D scanners for CAD/CAM Atlantis abutments. This will increase efficiency and profitability for the dental laboratory.
