Atlantis VAD™ (Virtual Abutment Design) is a patented process using 3D optimised scanning to generate an exact virtual image of the upper and lower implant-level models. It enables patient-specific solutions for single, multiple and full jaws. The scanned image allows each Atlantis™ abutment to be individually designed for the specific space it will fit and in relation to the surrounding teeth.
Using the Atlantis VAD™ (Virtual Abutment Design) software, Astra Tech designs the abutments from the final tooth shape, which is a significant advantage in achieving a more natural, aesthetic result.
Atlantis VAD™:
- fills the edentulous space with the ideal crown from an aesthetic and functional point of view
- analyses the dental technician’s specifications and integrates them into the abutment design process
- designs the abutment
- checks the virtual model against all preferences and specifications

| The scanned model is transformed into a 3D image making it possible to create the final tooth shape. |

When the desired tooth shape has been decided the abutments are designed. |

The final design is checked for fit and occlusal clearance before the abutments are produced. |
