Following the success of our first Clinical Coaching Programme in High Wycombe on 17th January, the first cohort of Astra Tech Clinical Coaches began their training at the UK headquarters of Astra Tech in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire.
The training focused on the 3-module programme that the national network of 60 Astra Tech Clinical Coaches will use to train GDP’s wishing to offer implants to their patients. The programme will provide theoretical knowledge to the delegates and they will be coached to offer practical restorative treatment under the supervision of the Coach.
Astra Tech has undertaken to provide our Coaches with further training to develop their skills so they provide the highest level of training to those delegates attending the programme.
The contents of the Clinical Coaching modular programme are available in our Training and Education area. Further training courses will be held during February around the UK.

Clinical Coaching was created by Astra Tech to meet the recently issued Training Standards in Implant Dentistry for General Dental Practitioners after the Working group for Training Standards in Implant Dentistry under the chairmanship of Dr Michael Martin examined the current status of dental implant education in the UK and published their finding in July 2006.
