Dr Mahmood Suleiman presented the first Module of his Clinical Coaching Programme for 22 Dentists at the Holiday Inn Hotel in High Wycombe. Dr Suleiman covered the basic sciences behind implant dentistry an overview of the surgical and restorative procedures involved. This is the first of a 3 modular programme aimed at providing Clinicians with the opportunity to receive theoretical and practical training on how to restore a variety of implant cases under supervision. The Clinicians will be "coached" by Dr Suleiman through the process.
Clinical Coaching was created by Astra Tech to meet the recently issued Training Standards in Implant Dentistry for General Dental Practitioners after the Working group for Training Standards in Implant Dentistry under the chairmanship of Dr Michael Martin examined the current status of dental implant education in the UK and published their finding in July 2006.
The Dentists who attended the 1st module agreed that the modular programme along side the clinical supervision offered by the Astra Tech Clinical Coaches is a novel way for them to become involved with implant dentistry in a structured approach that provides excellent patient care and appropriate training.
